As part of an all-round education, the Arts are an important part of life at The Gregg Preparatory School. Music is taught by a specialist who teaches all children from EYFS to Form 6.
Southampton Music Service provides individual instrumental lessons in brass, woodwind, stringed instruments and piano lessons are also available – over a third of our children receive music tuition in school. The choir is run as an after-school club but all children have the opportunity to sing.
There are regular Teatime Concerts giving the children the opportunity to perform to their parents. Music is at the centre of celebrations such as Christmas where the service is held at Highfield Church and is well attended by all members of our community.
Art and Design is taught throughout the school and all the children have access to the well-stocked art room. The lessons are usually based on the theme or the topic for the half term. A variety of media is explored and art workshops are organised throughout the year.
