Curriculum Subjects

Curriculum Subjects

In addition to the core subjects, the Arts, Geography, History, Sport, Spanish and Computing form the basis of the curriculum at The Gregg Prep School.

Humanities

History and Geography are taught throughout the school in half-termly blocks. All form groups have the opportunity to undertake trips out based around their History or Geography topics during the academic year.

Computing

Computing lessons are provided weekly for every form group in our ICT suite, which focus on specific skills. Children have access to laptops and Ipads to use in class to help with their learning.  The use of ICT is encouraged across all subject areas.

Spanish

At The Gregg Preparatory School, we aim to inspire a love of languages and an appreciation for different cultures. We hope to instil a genuine interest and positive curiosity about foreign languages.

We create a learning environment in the classroom that motivates and encourages pupils to communicate, as far as possible, in the target language (Spanish), and to take on challenges as well as risks with their learning.

The Gregg Preparatory School uses the Language Angels scheme of work and resources to ensure we offer a relevant, broad and vibrant foreign languages curriculum that will inspire and excite our pupils using a wide variety of topics and themes.

Sport

Sport and PE are timetabled for every form group. As well as swimming weekly, Forms 2 – Form 6 undertake sports offsite at a specialist sports provision in the city or at The Gregg School.
